Change of Name and Logo

We have changed the company name and logo following discussions with students within the Library of the campus. The company is now called The Third Nexus:

Formative Feedback

The main discussion during our formative was that another group is attempting the same thing so we should look into making our website have a USP. Futhermore we need to look into the legalities of creating a company and a site.
We must also consider the future of the site and how it will be maintained, who will join and how much will this cost. As we are leaving in about a month will we maintain it or students still within college.

Photography Idea

I had an idea that we could set up a photography area on Level 4 where people could come and have their picture taken (with Kofi's nice camera maybe?) and we can print it as a momento for them. Or create a digital copy. Could charge about £1.50 for each hard/computer copy or something, and it will not really cost us much to set up either.
Above is an example using a picture from Freshers week.

Creating Carrier Bags

The stall will also market our website service via the logo and web address appearing on their carrier bags. Paper bags can be printed upon and made by hand easily (http://www.ehow.co.uk/how_6395369_make-paper-carrier-bag.html) and very cheaply, and are more environmentally friendly than plastic.

T Shirt Printing

T-shirts can be made using transfer paper, which can be printed on at Ravensbourne and ironed onto the t-shirts. The paper can be found at £4.95 for ten sheets, making it around 50p per shirt, then plain t-shirts or vest tops can be bought very cheaply for around one or two pounds each.

We have also made contact via another team member to produce T-shirts with a company that can print them for £4 each, which may be a better option to make it look more professional

Star Wars Produce

When looking at merchandise, the best bet is to look at Star Wars produce. There are so many different types of product on the market, from figures and busts to tshirts, posters, games. You name it, Star Wars has probably made it. These pages are from the Star Wars online shop. Again most of the produce is character based, which would be good to do for our final year films but may be difficult for the website promotion.

As the stall will be based in Ravensbourne, artistic material like pencil cases, rulers etc will be more likely to sell as they are useful within college. Plain pencil cases can be bought online from around 1-2 pounds each (for example at http://www.cc-craft.co.uk/pencil-case-1-pc-light-natural.aspx) and could be sold for around £3-5 after being customised. Alternatively, pencil pots can be made using card by hand:

We could also sell sketchbooks or notebooks by buying paper in bulk and binding them with our design on the cover. We can also print our own art books in the University.
